The Future Challenge for Young Horses was ridden in Stockholm, Sweden. In the class for 7-year-olds over 1.35m, Bertram Allen steered the AES'er Karlsson (Carrera VDL x Concorde) the fastest to the finish and took the victory. The previous day this combination was also successful, the difference with the winner was only 0.04 of a second so they had to settle for 2nd place.
Karlsson is bred in Groningen, The Netherlands by A. & W. Wolters and H. Ongering. Carrera VDL, a stallion which performs at 1.60 level and has brought several good offspring, is also the father of this gelding. The mother Assa (Concorde x Cantus) brought several international jumping horses who are performing at least at 1.40 level. The pedigree of this horse and the current results show that we have to keep an eye on him in the future!
