Tinka’s Serenade wins Show Jumper of the Year title
In Birmingham the Irish beat the British, but in the end an Anglo European horse was on top. Billy Twomey showed he’s back at the top of the game with his never deceiving mare Tinka’s Serenade (Tinka’s Boy). They ended up beating Cian O’Connor (Cooper). Only the two Irish jumped double clear at the two round competition. Seventh place went to Ben Maher on a new mount for him: Kavanagh IV (Kannan), the Anglo gelding of the Renwicks. Maher just missed out the second round, for which only one four pointer of round one was qualified. On Saturday Maher had won the main class on Kavanagh. Ellen Whitaker ended up on third spot three times in the speed classes aboard Lola V, an eight-year-old mare by her former top legend Locarno 62. Also the AES horses Victor Blue and Pebbles IV grabbed a top five placing.
