With a victory in the open stallion class 1.45m Saturday night, Utamaro d’Ecaussinnes (Diamant de Semilly) set the standard for AES at Jumping Mechelen. The top horse of Joe Clee won after a jump-off with eleven. The same Joe Clee placed second in the opening class of the CSI5* competition aboard Vedet de Muze (Cartani), just like Utamaro a stallion approved by the AES. In the divisions for young stallions at the Nekkerhal, Olivier Philippaerts won on his first official competition on Gentleman (Guidam), also AES licensed. Anthony Wellens grabbed second place on Hidalgo (Vigo d’Arsouilles).
